"Room was adequate for a night staying over on Manchester after a day out.
No real faults as such, just that the room is very tired and in need of a bit of refurbishment - lots of worn surfaces, chipped paint, filler in walls, around bath etc.
Also, the room was very hot - there was a fan which helped to some extent.
So for just a bed to get your head down and a shower in the morning, if the price is right, it does the job."
"Needs a massive updating. Even the bottom of the bathroom door is rotting away. Extremely uncomfortable beds, felt every spring. Room service is not room service, it’s more like ring and collect.

"Our stay was very average for such a grand hotel. The room felt like we were stopping in the servants quarters rather than a nice hotel. It was small and basic but clean and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. Parking here can be difficult if you turn up in the evening and there is a charge. Great location for all that Buxton has to offer and very convenient for the many restaurants and bars."
