"Hotel was very clean,staff very helpful. Breakfast was ok but the quality of cooked food could have been better. We went for a wedding which was lovely. We didn't use the spa or pool as only there for one night. It was the hottest day of the year and in the parts that were air conditioned it was ok but the actual wedding was outside in the garden and there was no shade for the quests we were all melting and got sun burnt so would advise if its the reason for your visit take hats or umbrella. "Parked right outside entrance in semi private parking, very easy registration, room spacious,clean, blackout curtains, and bathroom with wonderful big tub!!! Great Bombay Saturday dinner selection - what a lovely extra surprise. Lovely, attentive and efficient staff, every one, from chefs to reception. Peaceful landscaped grounds for refreshing wander after long drive. Superb value breakfast. Highly recommend."

"I appreciated a clean room, sheets etc. which were really the most important for me. One member of staff on reception was quick, efficent and aimiable. Another was surly and unappreciative. The bar closed early, which did not bother me; but the only food on the menu was pizza, not a favourite. I did not have breakfast."

"Very clean room with plenty of tea making facilities and lots of hot water, fluffy towels and a comfortable bed. Helpful full length mirror in bedroom. Some of the communal areas look a bit tired, but staff welcoming and room was great for my needs (staying overnight in area ready for family get together). Great location for Hythe and walk along seafront short drive away."

"Room cleaned but had very old smell. Construction sound outside (they can't help it but just be aware) I plugged in my laptop and it blew the fuse in the room. Parking is pricy as is the restaurant but still nice to have. Staff, fantastic - no notes."

"It’s a very old and unique building, the main hotel has been updated to an excellent standard, Going to the breakfast room on the -1 level, you can see photos of the area and the entrance to the breakfast room tunnels under the main load and. Has a sea front terrace on the floor and the floor above. The young staff in the complex were helpful and smart"

"Clean single room at front of building some traffic noise,stay was during heatwave room was hot although a fan was provided. Should have requested a ground floor room as have some mobility issues staff were helpful and carried my case for me to room. Breakfast excellent, good choice and attentive staff as was the case when taking other meals which were also excellent Bar/lounge area comfortable again attentive staff, garden quiet and relaxing to sit in well cared for. "We arrived late at night tired hot and hungry.Staff was very welcoming and we were amazed to find they serve freshly made pizza 24 hrs and their bar was open..the cold beer was wonderful.Room great with very good ac which isnt always the case in UK. Next day staff rescued us by getting us a reliable taxi to London when our ride service cancelled us at last minute. Location in old section of Canterbury is perfect. Every single staff member was wonderful. Highly recommend!"
