"I have stayed here for 20 years, it was The Opal and it has been gorgeously remodeled but has all the things I love before. In and out enclosed parking, Mel’s Diner attached so food mostly anytime, comfortable beds👍, conveniently located at Van Ness and Geary Street so Ubers and cabs etc are easy. Tommy’s Joint an SF favorite for great food, beer and cocktails across the street. And a big movie theater practically next door. Very reasonable price for how nice it is now."

"This is a perfect place to stay in San Francisco! This motel is absolutely amazing- newly renovated rooms, very comfortable beds and is walkable to so many places to see in the city. The room rates are hands down one of the best in the area and did I mention free parking??? You can’t go wrong booking a room here- I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!! "

"They didn't have any breakfast options. There was a restaurant next door but never any people in there. Really need to change that on the listing about offering breakfast. We wanted to change rooms because we had very inappropriate noisy neighbors, that can in for one night just to party. There were clearly open unused room but we were told they were booked and couldn't change room. Our two children couldn't sleep with the noise and gun shots on the streets outside. Rooms outdated. No fridge or...

"I’ve been trying to find a less expensive hotel in SF that’s good - my go-to has gotten expensive and automated everything which is annoying. My room here was great. Clean well-functioning bathroom large closet comfortable bed and city view. You should know you will be next to the Tenderloin in which you would see raw examples of our failures as a society. My experience is it’s not dangerous just dirty and sad. You can avoid 95% of that if you walk the right streets and use ride shares....
