"Great location and friendly staff"

"Beautiful gardens. Access to the lake for paddleboard etc. although fairly steep walk down and back. Saw a couple of deer on the walk down. Quirky layout of the building. No clear directions on check in and lots of 'staff only' areas and doors. Sitting areas have great views. Need to be fit enough to carry luggage up stairs. Comfortable room and bed. Rooms not soundproofed. Old fashioned key. Lovely hot water. Dinner was good. "

"Excellent central location. The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa. The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this. Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring. Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance. The plumbing made a loud vibrating noise for 10 minutes after each toilet flush. The shower had excellent pressure and hot water. The room mini fridge had the internal light hanging...

Meals were lovely Breakfast was to die for very good quantity produce, really set us up for the day. Staff and manager were very attentive. Looking forward to staying hear again."
