"We are "stuck" here for an extra 2 days due to the Kona stirm. Staff have been exceedingy patient and friendly and accommodating during this challenging peroid. They even got me to the local emergency room for treatment of an acute injury. Our room was gorgeous!"

"The property is gorgeous. Large hotel, beautifully decorated, gorgeous pools especially the kids pool which had slides even fun for adults. They also let you use the pool at the Hyatt vacation club which was perfect for us. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. Really delicious food and the most beautiful scenery with a waterfall, pond and swans.
If there was a complaint the only thing is the beach portion was a little short but if you walk next door they have a bigger beach that you can...

"Fantastic property and stay. The units appear to be recently updated and in great condition. The ocean view was great - mostly unobstructed unless you count a few palm trees. The pool bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen at a resort - very much appreciated this attention!
Aside from a negative interaction with the hotel manager who was not friendly or very helpful after our vehicle's windshield was shattered by a golf ball in the valet lot, the rest of the staff was wonderful. Any service...

"I give it a 3.0 rating. Most of the staff was great, a few mediocre. Rooms are a bit run down and aged. Hotel was generally clean for its age. I’m a Hilton person and compare it to a run down Hilton Doubletree. Food was below average - Luau food was comparable to a Golden Corral - almost inedible. Like airplane food on a domestic flight. "Went for our honeymoon and the Whaler didn’t disappoint. The room was clean and set up pretty well. The communication and follow up was the best I’ve experienced, we wanted to experience a bunch of local spots and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect. Very centralized to snorkeling, pool, or the ocean. A bunch of good food in walking distance and even some others for a short drive. Was able to whale watch from the room and a short walk to black rock we seen dolphins....
