"Upon arrival at the Grantham Arms, we were welcomed warmly by staff. The atmosphere was friendly and cheerful on the Saturday before Christmas. Our room was well-appointed and very cosy. "The hotel is fine for a couple of nights although it could do with updating in many areas (having to walk up outside stairs to reach your room is not ideal). The footfall noise from the upstairs room was terrible on both nights, even with a change of occupants. Needs some sort of sound proofing. The staff member we complained to was great and offered to change our room, but it was after midnight. The electrics blew in our room when we switched something off; again the staff were fantastic....
