great location

the hotel is very comfortable with large and clean room. although it's on the main road the rooms are not noisy. buckingham palace and victoria station are 2 minutes walk from the hotel

Great Location, Super Clean, and Best Price!

Great Location, Super Clean, and Best Price! Everyone was very helpful. We arrived early before check-in, and although at arrival our room was not available, they were quick in response to get it ready for us within an hour... still hours before check-in time! Really great place to stay if you have 4 or more traveling with you... This hotel offers to sleep 4 in a room(family deluxe)... that's not common in England. Therefore, it cut our hotel cost in HALF... it was a BIG difference!

Great Location, good service, good hotel

Great location and confortable room, very close to Victoria Station 10 minutos walking time. Outside parking the bus tour, is reallly good to vacation time or holydays.

This is not a four-star hotel. The quality of the room and service is at most at motel level. The staff is somehow 'pushy' and not polite.

Thistle Westminster - location, location, location

I recently stayed for 1 night, mid-week, in the Thistle Westminster while I was London for a conference. The hotel was easy to find from Victoria tube station and close in proximity to my meeting venue too, which was why I chose it. The staff was efficient and friendly enough and the room did exactly what it said on the tin. It was basic and could have done with some updating, especially the bathroom, but was clean and comfortable enough for 1 night. PROs: location, price CONs: traffic noise, basic & dated decor

1 night only - never again!

Hotel was not 4 Star, 3 Star at best, the room was freezing, I reported it to reception, they sent up a portable heater, the room did eventually heat up. I went for breakfast in the morning, £16.95, I asked for it to be charged to my room and I would pay on check-out i was asked to pay there and then, due to time costraints and that I had a few quid on me I went round the corner, full english £4.95. In general a poor hotel would not stay here again.

Thistle Westminster ottimo hotel e buona posizione

Ci siamo trovati benissimo con Expedia, l'hotel era come descritto ed in ottima posizione. La prenotazione di Volo+Hotel ci ha permesso di risparmiare su altre alternative e si è dimostrata affidabile.

Great location, okay hotel

The hotel was clean, rooms were in good condition. The location was excellent, around the corner from Victoria tube station and in walking distance of many great attractions. Only real criticism was that in our twin room the TV was on the desk which was level with your head when you lay down so there was no way to watch TV in bed.

Das Thistle liegt praktisch an der hinteren Ecke des Buckinghampalastes.

Das Thistle liegt im gehobenen Mittelfeld obwohl ich die 4 Sterne für übertrieben halte. Es ist gut erreichbar , die Victoria Station ist einen Block entfernt und den Buckinghampalast kann man bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Ist man nicht lauffaul kann man einiges (Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly Circus etc.) ebenfalls von dort zu Fuß erkunden. Lobby, bar und Frühstücksraum (haben wir aber nicht in Anspruch genommen) machen einen guten und sehr sauberen Eindruck. Im Zimmer und Bad sieht man schon den hohen Gäsatedurchsatz an den deutlichen Gebrauchsspuren, die aber nicht wirklich stören. Bed bugs sind im Gespräch, erfreulicherweise haben wir keine gefunden (oder die uns nicht). Bei der Bettinspektion (einmal zwischen Bettauflage und Matratze schauen) kam den doch leichte Serviceschlamperei zum Vorschein: Einige lange Haare, Krümel etc., war wohl lange nicht abesaugt worden! Ich denke das wird man in vielen Hotels finden, muß halt alles schnell gehen bis zum nächsten Check In. Fazit: ich habe London schon sehr oft besucht und dieses Hotel gehört definitiv zu den besseren. Das Hotel liegt natürlich an einen viel befahrenen Straße. Wer es etwas ruhiger mag (evtl. Nachts das Fenster offen hat) sollte nach einem Zimmer zur Nebenstraße fragen. das macht das freundliche Rezeptionspersonal dann ohne Umstände möglich.

Albergo è in un ottima posizione, 100m da Victoria e 300 dalla "Queen"... Le condizioni non sono proprio da 4 stelle, ma gli alberghi di Londra sono tutti in questo stile, quindi sarebbe un 3 stelle "italiano" e un 4 stelle "Londinese"...

L'aspetto migliore dell'hotel è la posizione: vicinissima (5 minuti a piedi) a Victoria station, 10 minuti a Buckingham palace e comunque vicina e tranquillamente raggiungibile a piedi le principali attrazioni turistiche londinesi (Big Ben, Casa del Parlamento, London Eye, Piccadilly, Oxford street, Regent Street, Old e New Bond street, Trafalgar square, National gallery, etc). Le condizioni dell'hotel sono buone, discreta la camera ma il bagno ha deluso un pò sulla manutenzione; i prodotti da bagno (saponette, bagno schiuma, shampoo, etc) sono insufficienti e troppo misurati. Il phon fisso in camera accanto alla TV assolutamente scomodo. Forse le 4 stelle della categoria sono troppo generose.

great location

the benefit of being downtown without the huge price tag... 2 blocks from Buckingham Palace and close to one of the main stops for all of the big bus tours... easy to get around! The staff seemed a little surprised when asked for assistance (or recommendations of where to eat), which was a bit odd, but overall a great experience

Thistle Westminster - location is key

My two children and I stayed at this hotel for one night to enable us to take in the central London sights and to be close to shopping and the parks. For this, the hotel is perfect. It is an older hotel, rather tired and showing its age, so dont expect luxury or the most up to date decor. The room was clean and fine for one night, but would have been cramped for more with next to no space to unpack or spread out. We did not try breakfast, but the bar was not the most hospitable place and the barman could do with a crash course in English - this is London after all !

Sentral beliggenhet, ok hotell

Et helt ok hotell for en natt til en ok pris. Hadde kanskje forventet en litt bedre standard, siden det er et fire stjerners hotell, men det er tross alt England. Meget sentral beliggenhet ved Buckingham Palace, og generelt et ok hotell.

Definitely pleased with hotel!

Great location, clean hotel, nice breakfast! We stayed for the weekend and it was close to Buckingham Palace so easy to walk to all of the tourist sites. We also traveled with a 2 month old and they were very accomodating.

Not impressed

Fire alarm going off during the night with no explanation from staff the following day. Started to go to street level but alarm stopped assumed it was false alarm but no one to verify this! Rest of the nights sleep was a bit unsettling. Did not find staff over helpful. Breakfast meal was far too expensive. Beds were comfortable but lack of space in room. I think there must be a shortage of toilet rolls in this hotel not much when we arrived refilled on third day.
