The red walls of the city have given the city the nickname of the "Red City". Marrakesh grew rapidly and established itself as a cultural, religious, and trading centre for the Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa; Jemaa el-Fnaa is the busiest square in Africa.

Another beautiful view from the Kasbah du Toubkal's terrace in the High Atlas Mountains. This is truly a unique location and an excellent place to stay if you are keen on trekking to the Toubkal, the tallest peak in Northern Africa.
