"Stayed at a handful of hostels and this one's in a class of its own. Bunk beds are comfortable and private, with plenty of lockable storage underneath. The space is clean, warm, and genuinely well put together. Staff are friendly and they set the tone for the place. Taco Tuesday is not to be missed. Easy in and out, free parking just a block away. And the location speaks for itself."

"The kids loved the outdoor pool and nightly outdoor movies. Landscaping was beautiful and well maintained. The room was a bit outdated (knew this based on other posts) but clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Dana and had no issues."

"The OB Hotel is ideal for families wanting to visit and have Beach Days! It’s directly across the street for easy walking! They also provide a foot rinse to rinse the sand off your feet before going into your room. The flooring is not carpet so you don’t feel bad bringing some of the ocean water and sand back with you. Our patio was private with tall chairs so we could people watch and view the sunset each night. Will definitely return!!"

"Bedroom itself did not have AC unit! This bedroom is supposed to sleep 4 people, with no AC in humid San Diego? We paid nearly $400 a night for no AC in the bedroom and to boot there was no elevator for our tower. None of this was information was given to us before or during check-in . Not only does our bedroom have no AC but housekeeping left the balcony door wide open, in attempt to cool off the room maybe, but instead left the room full of mosquitos and all kinds of other bugs. "We stayed in the ground-floor Beach Acres room with a king bed. The photos for the room we reserved showed both a king bed and a sofa, but when we arrived there was only a small chair. When we asked about the sofa, the front desk told us that “it sometimes has a sofa,” which was disappointing since the photos were one of the reasons we chose that room.
