"Hotel staff and concierge were great. Breakfast was excellent for a buffet. The restaurant and pub seemed to have staffing problems and were not attentive. The facility is showing it's age, however. Still, it was convenient to the mall for shopping. A little to far to walk to the Horizon cruise terminal with any luggage, but the concierge hooked us up with a taxi."

"The rooms are now really tired and neglected and not worth the £170 price per night, compared to other local hotels ive stayed in. The downstairs communal areas are good, despite the greedy £10 per wineglass, as are the staff. Its the bedrooms- woodchip walls, broken botched multiple wood/paint surfaces, mouldy bathroom and bare carpets-that need a complete renovation. Upstairs communal carpet is like something from The Shining movie. Not recommended."

"You get what you pay for... or so I thought, until I was talking to fellow travellers. They were raging about the cost of this budget hotel. I thought it was reasonably priced. It is basic, no frills, no vending machine, nowhere to put your clothes except a peg on the wall or a bench. That said, the bed was comfortable and there was a fan in the room. This was really useful given the air con didn't appear to be controllable. I reduced the setting to cool down from 30 degree weather outside and...

"For the $91 per night price, this was very good value. Indeed, the property is a mere 5 minutes from the port and train station, which is great. Also, there are good restaurants within a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a decent full kitchen, although there appeared to be no way to make ice. Be aware that there are no en suite bathrooms, but the bathroom was always available to us, since the property was only about half full. "The welcome at Reception was excellent and was a great start to our stay. The staff in the bar/restaurant area were outstanding and we enjoyed our evening so much we planned on going back for lunch the following day. Unfortunately this was when our whole experience changed, we asked for a late check out at 12 but were told it would cost us £10. This seemed petty as we were told late check out was fine. I am also a member of the hotel’s loyalty club and one perk was not having to pay for this....
