"The room was super small, but the bathroom was decent size with a great shower. We had to store our luggage downstairs at the desk as only our carry ons could fit comfortably on the room. The breakfast that came with the room was the best we have ever encountered. We could order off the menu which had a good selection w/ great coffee and fabulous service!"

"The rooms are now really tired and neglected and not worth the £170 price per night, compared to other local hotels ive stayed in. The downstairs communal areas are good, despite the greedy £10 per wineglass, as are the staff. Its the bedrooms- woodchip walls, broken botched multiple wood/paint surfaces, mouldy bathroom and bare carpets-that need a complete renovation. Upstairs communal carpet is like something from The Shining movie. Not recommended."

It is basic, no frills, no vending machine, nowhere to put your clothes except a peg on the wall or a bench. That said, the bed was comfortable and there was a fan in the room. The staff in the bar/restaurant area were outstanding and we enjoyed our evening so much we planned on going back for lunch the following day. Unfortunately this was when our whole experience changed, we asked for a late check out at 12 but were told it would cost us £10. This seemed petty as we were told late check out was fine. "For the $91 per night price, this was very good value. Indeed, the property is a mere 5 minutes from the port and train station, which is great. Also, there are good restaurants within a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a decent full kitchen, although there appeared to be no way to make ice. Be aware that there are no en suite bathrooms, but the bathroom was always available to us, since the property was only about half full.
