"Well located for shops and both Exeter Main and St. Davids railway stations. My room was compact but well thought out and well equipped. It was great to have a light next to the bed which you could turn off/on easily and the shower was good. Breakfast was first class, beautifully served and coffee one of the best. I would have liked more savoury options for the breakfast but that is just a small preference. Host was really helpful and very welcoming. I would stay here again."

"What a hotel! Booked to stay for work purposes and WOW... Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were clean and very well kept and decorated as well as the beer garden which I didn't use but could see from my room and it was beautiful to look out on to with the church just to the side of it! My room was just perfect. Comfy pillows and bed, nice big TV, very nicely finished bathroom. All amenities in room as well as some nice little extras that make you feel that...

"My room was on top floor, a bit warm but had a fan. Bathroom was nice and clean but the carpet in the rest of room needed a good vacuuming. Also quite dusty, but for the price, it was ok. Breakfast was traditional English. Coffee is never to my American tastes"

"At the time of booking this place came up on Expedia after filtering for air con (required). The hotel has an "efficient adiabatic cooling system", which we found to be inadequate during our stay. It was 27 degrees outside during the day and overnight the room didn't drop below 24 degrees. I believe this is considered an uncomfortable sleeping temperature and we were definitely uncomfortable. The staff informed us that the system was working. It's just not a very good system! The hotel is doing...
