"The hotel was excellent! Clean , friendly staff and the best location."

"Room was INCREDIBLY loud. I would not recommend staying here if you intend on having a good nights sleep. The elevators are a disaster. The room service is slow after 7pm. Front desk was less than enthusiastic to help. The Carlyle, The Surrey or even The Four Seasons midtown are better picks."

"There’s no pool or hot tub as advertised. The pool view room overlooks an unfinished hole in ground - you pay more for an eyesore. The room is so small you can’t even fit to walk around the bed, probably 9 inches of space between the edge of the bed and the wall. "

"The Beacon Hotel has a great charm about it. They have managed to maintain the old look of the hotel, although it might be useful to upgrade certain aspects of the rooms. Our hair dryer smelt of burning, so we didn't use it. The caulk around the sink and bath was starting to pull away from the tiles."

"Wonderful staff. Room was clean and New-York sized, plain but comfortable and clean. Wish there was coffee service that didn’t require wait lines at the (excellent) French bakery cafe on the first floor. "

"Uncomfortable beds and pillows Other guest are loud at all hours, lack of respect for others and no notice of any enforcing for quiet hour by hotel staff. Breakfast very basic and bland, could offer a lot more and better set up."

"Great Location. We had a King suite , lots of room and worth the money. A wealth of restaurants within walking distance . A shout out to the Amsterdam Market across the street. The food to go is excellent, Many mornings grabbed a fresh omelet for $10 and brought it up to the room , The hotel is very clean . The elevators are very slow as it is an older building but thats a minor detail"

"The elevator was disgusting and smelled terrible. The room was full of hair and dirty clothing on sides and underneath the bed from previous people. The AC was loud and broken. The bathroom looked like someone kicked out the door from the inside out and the chips in the tub were rusted. All this forced us to leave at 3am when our 2 year old started coughing non stop from the poor air quality. ~ Semper Fi "

"The room was clean but the balcony was disgusting, seeing dirty diapers along with many cigarettes out the window is crazy. For the price I was excepting it to much cleaner."

"Host was very friendly and helpful. The room was cozy and simple, exactly what I needed for this trip, and everything seemed clean and easy to navigate. There is an excellent pizza place down the street and the building wasn't far from the subway or from buses. Had a great experience and would stay again!"
