"Bed was better than business hotels. Bed size at least as large as a full where my wife and I had room to stretch (i'm 6' tall), right firmness (wife did not get back problems, and room size was almost 50% larger than cheap business hotel. Only about 20meters to a Ueno Sta. exit (forgot exit#). Short walk to Ameyokocho for food, shopping and Ueno Patk. Front Desk and cleaning staff very helpful."

"Fantastic brand new hotel. Super modern, we had a traditional Japanese room and it was immaculate. We stayed in multiple hotels during our Japan trip and we only had 1 night at Tabi for our last night in the country. It was the best hotel we stayed in. Great location close to Ueno station and Kensei-Ueno station. 7-11 is a 2 min walk. Not sure about hotel amenities as we're there only 1 night. Our room had a view of Tokyo Tower which was a bonus. Would 100% stay here again."

"A lovely hotel in a quiet area, yet only about 20 minutes by train or metro to reach the main sights. As a walker, I found it took around 45 minutes to an hour to get to Ginza. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a well‑kept bathroom that made the stay even more pleasant. The staff were consistently helpful and polite, and the food at the hotel was very good. There are also plenty of eateries nearby, making dining easy and enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again."

"Filthy!! Mold growing in room. Smelled of mildew so bad we had to open windows and eventually leave. Visible black mold coming down through the ceiling above our beds. Multiple spots. Wish I could upload the pic so the place would go out of business. Offered another room and it was gross too. And the dust was an inch thick. They don’t clean for you. You clean your own room and leave garbage and towels outside. The staff is fine but the hotel was so filthy in our room. We were upgraded to “the nicest” option which had two small beds for a family of three. It was filthy. Literally. And averaged $300 per night. "

Plus, the location is perfect—it’s very convenient to the train stations, making travel easy. Highly recommended!"

"Both in Ueno and Kyoto Nohgo has a paciness that is in contrast to the measured precision of other accommodation we used on our trip to Japan. Check in was great and front desk team presented a positive vibe but the interface with the dining area needs working on. It’s as if it is run by a different franchise? The food however is excellent. Breakfast in particular on a different level to Nohga Kyoto. We left Ueno on a bit of a down note because we showed up excitedly for breakfast on a Sunday morning at 9-55 just 5 minutes before the 7-10 window closed and were advised Breakfast entry was closed. The advice on timing needs to be re-written if 10.00 means something else?? Most staff speak pretty good English but I suppose that lowers the cultural divide and made the rejection harder to take than if it had had a language barrier to cross? Having been told there was nowhere to simply have a drink without food we found a mezzanine above the restaurant but ordering a drink is not easy."
