"On arrival we were told we were being upgraded to a ‘privilege’ room. Great I thought. Not so. We walked down and along to a very dark and tired room with no view on the ground floor. Yes, it had robes to wear (short, small and scratchy), yes it had a coffee machine (we don’t drink coffee) and a small fridge. I went back to reception to ask if we could see the original room but were told they were full! The large shower head was dripping water not enough to wash in and the fridge didn’t have any...

"Most of the hotel was in good shape, but our room (321) had a mildew smell and there was rust and mold/mildew in the bathroom, especially around the bottom of the door where it hinges. We loved the dining and lounge area, and found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast was a little confusing and disorganized; for such a busy time it was clear that more staff should have been working. We liked the location and general ambience."
