"Stayed over New Year and decided to stay and extra night as we felt so comfortable as staff and food were good. Room was a little small for a 'premium ' but adequate. The bar/ lounge is great, lovely fires and a lot of residents brought their dog, the staff engaged with all👍👍. Look forward to seeing how they upgrade the hotel after the January shutdown. Fourstones Lime Kilns. These are the remains of a 19th century lime kiln. This large example contains at least four separate lime kilns. Limestone was built in kilns such as this to produce lime, which was used to make cement or improve soil quality. What a shame there is so much rubbish in front of this lime kiln. This is an important piece of industrial heritage and should be respected as much as more high profile ancient monuments.

"Staff were really lovely and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet, and the hotel was perfectly situated in the centre of Hexham. The only issues were the very few parking spaces available, and the fact we could only park for up to 2hrs with a permit during the day, if there wasn’t any space in the tiny car park. But we loved the hotel itself and would recommend. "
