Fantastic breakfast at a friendly B&B

Very friendly with a great breakfast but It’s a B&B not a hotel so you get some of the idiosyncrasies that brings, such as the owners dog wandering into your room and being cold at night (as others have mentioned) Overall a very nice lady owns it & works hard to make it a friendly establishment. The fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt at breakfast was a very generous first course to a great British breakfast. The bed was very comfy though pillows for me went to nothing so my sleep wasn’t great. Great location 2 mins from the Spanish city and the beach, good WiFi and plenty of hot water. Main issue for me was it was cold at night. Pricey for a B&B at over £110 a night

Park Lodge

Quiet location a couple of minutes walk from the seafront. Clean and spacious ensuite. Nespresso coffee machine as well as tea making facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Overall would definitely stay again. The front of the budiuilfing has been repainted so look for turquoise not pink building compared to photos.

Everything you need

The hotel and room was exceptionally clean and we were greeted by a very kind lady on arrival who showed us to our room. The Park Lodge is placed well with only a few steps to the sea, local bars and restaurants. Would happily recommend to family and friends, would stop there again in the future.

Lovely, traditional B&B

Impressive B&B offering a warm welcome and nicely provisioned room with bottled water and chocolate biscuits plus fresh milk on request and some of the fluffiest towels I have encountered. Free WiFi connected easily and was good enough to stream a film. A lovely breakfast cooked to order with all manner of home made spreads to enjoy. Parking is on the street, chargeable during the day, free overnight and on Sundays. There is no evening meal but we found a wide range of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. We only stayed one night but were very comfortable and would happily return.

Great little place.

Very, very comfortable rooms with excellent facilities. The beds are great, the bathrooms excellent and the wi-fi is included in the price and very fast and reliable. Breakfasts are also excellent.

Excellent hotel, 2 minutes walk from the beach.

Wonderful friendly welcome from Liz, the owner. Beautiful, stylish and spotlessly clean suite with wetroom - the beds were soooo comfortable. Amazing breakfast. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again - I highly recommend. 5* B&B. Dined at Ahar Indian restaurant - fabulous meal.

Stayed for 3 nights on business in the area. The room was large and comfortable with a generous size bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Parking is free overnight on the street outside and it was no problem finding space. Booked to stay again next week.

Fab B&B

The hotel has all the facilities of a big hotel . The room was extremely comfortable and the little extra personal touches made all the difference. Lizwas a fabulous host and gave me a recommendation for dinner that was also great. Breakfast was fab too. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area.

A little break at Park Lodge

Very comfortable stay with a good breakfast. A little problem with the hot water (soon sorted out), inconsistent wifi and lack of milk in the morning to make tea/coffee stops this being a 5*. No doubt we could have had milk if we had got dressed and gone to ask for it, but by that time we could have breakfast, which we did.

A home away from home.

Great location in easy walking distance of the beach and Whitley Bay metro but very peaceful. Very high standard fittings with very comfy bed. Liz looked after us so well we felt like we were visiting family! Would highly recommend.

Just what we were looking for

We liked conversing with the owner, Liz. On the first morning, she didn't have any other guests and sat with us while we had breakfast and chatted about the town, recent happenings there as well as stories of the past. Perfect! The breakfasts were outstanding in quality and choice.

Comfortable and welcoming

Cannot miss the hotel - masses of glorious hanging baskets and greenery at the front. We were lucky to note a reviewer's comment to arrive after 4 pm (one tends to glaze over booking sites' details). We parked our car on the hotel's private forecourt. The hotel was very clean and fresh. Bedroom very comfortable with good windows which one could open if more fresh air was required. Tea/coffee making facilities in room and if required, Liz will happily let you have a jug of milk. Shower was good with good water pressure. Plenty of restaurants within strolling distance AND do ask Liz for recommendations - she is good!! Metro stations within walking distance and a most convenient bus stop just up the road from hotel for regular buses to Newcastle. If you feel a bit greedy with the breakfast cereals, variety of dried fruits, fresh fruits, home made compote and two varieties of home made marmalade (highly recommended) not to mention yoghurt, rack of toasts and butter, tea/coffee - just remember the marvelous cooked breakfast is yet to come and it is massive! We stayed two very comfortable nights and will definitely be back.

Excellent!

Just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Liz the owner was brilliant. Made myself and my family feel very welcome. Rooms were lovely as was the breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble as Liz booked us into the Italian restaurant round the corner on our first night. My 3 year old daughter was very impressed with the park across the road and with Liz's grandchildren who provided lots of laughs at breakfast.

A friendly atmosphere

If you come by Metro, the walk through downtown Whitley Bay is far from enticing, but the park across from the hotel is well maintained and you can walk (or take the Metro) to Tynemouth with ease. Liz is an engaging hostess with long experience in the business. The B&B, carved out of the hotel that she originally ran, has a charm all of its own, though the bathrooms are a little cramped. The full English Breakfast is cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit!
