"We stayed in one of the older buildings which was great and had a unique feel to it. It did make controlling the temperature and ac a little trickier during the recent heatwave though. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean with a decent shower."

"Our experience can be stupidly as hot and noise. We stayed 2 nights in Room #1 which was facing the main room in mid summer. They offered a fan in the room which was totally useless, you properly can generate more air by fanning yourself than the fan. The room was so noisy at night even you closed all the windows. Just imagine you sleep in a room with all the windows closed in a hot day and hearing cars zooming by through out the night."

"Even though we paid for the previous night and breakfast, but didn't stay as we were on a longhaul flight, when we arrived at 8am we were not allowed breakfast. Terrible drain smell from bathroom that meant we had to leave light and extraction fan on permanently and buy airfreshners"

"Manu was a great host, he was very welcoming and helpful and provided clear instructions to find the apartment, parking and how to get into the property. The property was exactly as advertised, in a great location and was spotless. Also, having tea and coffee at the property is only a small touch but has a great impact and shows Manu cares for guests. Great place and would 100% return. "

"Rooms and location with free parking was great for the area—much more reasonable than other places we looked at. Comfortable beds, and while the breakfast wasn’t anything to write home about, it was pleasant and filling. Nice to have that covered on our first day of the trip. This place isn’t anything fancy, but it was fine. Easy bus ride into city centre. Would recommend if looking for a good, basic option."

"The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford.
