"Beautiful hotel, lots of character and really friendly staff. We stayed in La Rosa room and enjoyed a delicious cocktail in the lounge before going out to explore Whitby. Thoroughly recommend!"

"Was really nice room, seaview but unfortunately scaffolding is still up but will be lovely when done. Room spacious, clean and newly painted. Bathroom looked new too and shower was really nice. Had evening meal at hotel and couldn't fault it. Staff were helpful and friendly. It was lovely and quiet. quiet.quiet.srecommend."

"The Nutshell is a lovely little place, perfect for a stay in Whitby. Great location close to the harbour and town centre. Very clean and everything you need, hob, oven and all crockery and utensils. Nice feel to the place, makes you feel like you’re at the seaside. Great communication with the owners. Would 100% stay again. I was there for a week and had a wonderful time."

"We loved our stay here, it was so near to whitby centre. The room was good, a negative is no where to dry towels. We had to ask for more coffee and sugar, as we were staying three nights. We will recomnend a stay at Penny Hedge. Staff could not do enough for us , all very friendly and polite. We will come again now we know of the hotel . Caroline and Laura were helpful , we rang because we could not quite find your location on our sat nav. staff helped us on this matter and then found you...

Plenty of information of the surrounding areas and clear instructions regarding bins, parking, check in and heating. Brilliant communication from the hosts before stay. "Det var inte perfekt städat när vi kom, men hade kontakt med ägaren om en matta som var smutsig. Det är en basement flat och det blir nästan alltid fuktigt i en sådan. Men vi trivdes ändå bra. "
