"This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at, as someone who travels solo often sometimes you are just looking for some peace and not having to do everything on your own. I am in awe of the property. If you are looking for privacy, story book views, and gardens this is the place to be. The staff is also incredibly kind and always looking to help in any way they can. "The building doesn’t look like it has had any money spent on it since the 1980’s.Very shabby hotel, shame on the owners, it could be fab. Had holes in sheets and towels. No duvet it’s a 1950’s style blanket between sheets. Not hygienic these days. Dirt and dust everywhere. Cushions with stains on. One pillow each. Dining chairs in the breakfast room all broken. "Very cute suite with what we thought was a great location in Florence. Away from the hustle and bustle but very walkable to main sites and lots in the close vicinity as well. Claudia was a great host and very responsive. Beds were comfy’ linens and towels were good. We couldn’t use the AC as it was too early in the season. But the apartment cooled off very well at night. A lovely stay!"

"We had a wonderful experience at the Oltrarno Splendid. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, and there was always fruit and goodies to munch on in the afternoon/evening. The entry to the building was very cool - felt like another era, and the decoration of the hotel is very interesting. Our rooms was very nice and spacious and we had a free bottle of Chianti, which was awesome."

"Beautiful condition of hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Location was cool but long walks into Florence center but okay to beat the congestion of the city center trade off. The area directly outside the hotel gate was very sketchy especially if you are traveling solo. Once in the very narrow entrance of the property, you feel safe. "

"Hotel Villa Ambrosina is quiet, off the beaten path with beautiful views. I absolutely loved the room. It had a beautiful terrace overlooking the hills of Tuscany. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful for only 5 euros. I will caution everyone that it's a very hilly approach from the town, but we walked to a local store for supplies with no problems at all. I loved this stay. "
