"We had a lovely 2 night stay, the room and decor were really interesting and the breakfast was top class."

"The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The temperature in the rooms was good, but it should be noted that our stay was in the early spring where neither heating nor air conditioning was needed, but I imagine it would be fairly hot in the summer as the windows in the rooms are quite small. The parking was good and simple, plenty of spaces, easy to find. The check in and check out procedures were easy as well. There were a few disappointing aspects about our stay. The most prominent being the breakfast situation. When we booked, it was inferred that there was a continental breakfast with option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast for a further fee. During our stay, we went down to breakfast at about 7.15, pretty close to the start of the breakfast service. The only options available were stale bread for toasting, tea, coffee, and room temperature yoghurt. When we asked about upgrading to a cooked breakfast, we were told that the kitchen was closed. I would strongly argue that this does not represent a continental breakfast, and we were very disappointed as the hotel was located quite rurally so there were no other options for breakfast and it did impact our plans. Perhaps it should be renamed as 'complimentary breakfast'. The other small matters was that the bathroom in the room had not been restocked of toilet paper or soap in the dispensers. To future visitors: you will have a restful night, but bring your own food and soap."

"Have stayed multiple times at this hotel and would thoroughly recommend. The staff are very friendly. There is ample parking. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. It would be 5 stars from me if there were bedside sockets for charging and recycling facilities."

"Plenty of parking space. H&S issue, low doors into rooms with no notice to mind head, I bashed my head when going into my room. The second floor room we were in the very old window had no latch to secure it, wind kept blowing it open. Informed staff in the morning but nothing done till early evening then same day. Appreciate it's an old building but. Attention to detail."

"Parking is easy. However the Breakfast was £16 which is way too expensive and we will never eat all the stuff what is provided. Breakfast should be simple and i don't mind spending about £5 for a breakfast. It is breakfast not a big lunch"

"Rooms very beaten down, marks on walls, paint peeling off bathroom door. I understand you get what you pay for as it was cheap but the rooms could have been cleaner, there was loads of spider webs above windows and all on ceiling. Had 2 power cuts during the night. At least bed was comfortable "

"Rooms were fine , beds nice , food poor, waitied for ages for anyone to come to the bar, a good 15 mins, then food cake out ok, the breakfast was poor, sausages undercooked, potato burned and had to ask for coffee, and other bits . Food was not ready for breakfast which was ok , but quality of food really let it down . Staff were nice though and tried hard to help 3 stars , very average tbh ."

"There was an issue with my booking at the usual place i stay so i booked this last minute and i was not disappointed. The staff were super friendly, the rooms have recently been refurbished and the room I stayed in was beautiful. This is now my new favourite place to stay in the area and I will be back. Thank you. "
