"Wonderful hotel - not to big and not too small"

"No A/C in the room. No elevator for a three story hotel. This hotel is very old and has a lot of homeless in the area. the room was clean and we did have a nice view. you hear the jet planes because you have to open the windows to keep the place cool. Nothing is really walking distance for food or shopping. Recommend Ken's pancake house for good local grinds! (3rd floor facing the pool)"

"We stayed 2 nights, the first room had a lot of ants so we asked them to switch the room. The other room had also ants, the third room was okay so we decided to move the room. It was 2nd floor which is no elevator. They said no other room we can use elevator but I don’t think so. Definitely not busy time. The room is ocean front but it is partially ocean front view because of the big tree. I recommend to request upper floor. I don’t think this is not a perfect location to stay in Hilo...

"The location was great - close to shopping, beach, airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even brought a microwave to the room when we asked for one. But, the rooms are very dated and were not very clean. The carpet was really dirty and there were cockroaches in the room and bathroom. It’s highly unlikely that we will stay here again."

"This property is truly exceptional, with many sculptures thoughtfully arranged and well-maintained, making us feel as though we were in a museum. The staff are also very kind and attentive. "

"I thought the property was very well kept. My only complaints were the pool. It was rather chilly especially as some of the days we were there were windy. Also, we did come to this resort for our honeymoon and did mention this to the front desk during check in and there wasn’t an acknowledgement of this."

"This was a very unique room to stay in (rm 6). The property is a little hard to find at night (off the beaten path) which also gives its secluded charm. check in and out was easy. the room had a big shower and a view of a pound. they had fresh fruits and home made banana pineapple bread along with Kau coffee. it was very close to the volcano entrance and right across the main road are several places to eat (I recommend going to Volcano's Lava Rock Cafe for good local grinds)."
