"We stayed for one night. We were attending a wedding close by and don’t live locally. We needed a bed for the night that was inexpensive, had a good check in time and included breakfast. This hotel ticked all those boxes.We checked-in at 2pm, which is rare for hotels now. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We received a personal and lovely welcome with a very swift check-in. "Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "

So neither I or my wife could have a shower that evening or the next morning ( today ) . "It was good. Price was very affordable. It's very old and better for younger people. Had a few places that a senior could trip or slip. Otherwise, not bad. Friendly staff."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful.
