"This is by far our favorite place to stay when we are in Des Moines! They have never let us down in all the years we have been there, and that says a lot!"

"The traffic near the hotel was crazy, as usual road construction, weaving thru a restaurant parking lot to get the hotel was weird; literally took 12 minutes before someone greeted us (another traveler and myself) and check us in, it was 4:16 PM, so nobody near from the front desk. The Machine Shed restaurant within walking distance, was great food, and incredible staff."

"We came back to this same hotel from a stay in 2025. It has significantly gone downhill. The entrance, hallways and doors are scuffed and look really worn. After check-in we found that our room was not cleaned. We specifically requested a room on the backside of the hotel to avoid Interstate traffic noise. The request was not communicated. Our room was clean and smelled deeply of Pine Sol. It had a fire alarm that continuously chirped, randomly. The first night, we called a front desk personnel...

"We were charged a parking fee. There was nothing on our confirmation receipt about the fee. After we checked in the front desk person handed us a parking flyer to place in our window and told us it would be $7.00 to use the parking lot. I would expect a parking fee for a full service hotel in a downtown setting, but this was a convenience motel in a suburb of a small city in Iowa. Hidden fee...inexcusable"

"Nice pool and hot tub area. Not a lot of space to meet as a group. Rooms were OK. Not real fancy, but OK."

"Unfortunately, I was unable to stay at this location. There was visible water-damage and an overwhelming musty odor. On top of this, there were a variety of scented products that attempted to mask odor. I felt ill after just dropping my items into the room and decided not to expose myself any further, so I left my keys at the desk. Very kind and wonderful woman at the front desk when I checked in."

"So the hotel room was great.. one of the elevators were broken and with this property being as big as it is it needs at least 3 or 4 to keep the flow going. I was on the 7th floor alone and it was dreadful waiting. Normally I would just take the stairs in that situation but of you have luggage and small children it can be a bit tricky. Also there were A LOT of people there due to baseball tournaments so only having 1 functional elevator was ridiculous. Loved that room though!"

"I was greeted with a smile from the Desk Clerk, completely apprised of all the amenities and urged to make use of them. My room was delightfully clean and cooled, beginning with the sitting room and kitchenette, separate room for sleeping, and yet another room for shower and toilet. Needless to say, my first luxury was dropping my luggage in the waiting rack and climbing in to the hot shower which had shampoo/conditioner/body cleanser readily available, a very welcome option following the past...
