"I honestly can't understand why this hotel is rated as well as it is showing online. When travelling I always stayed here previously but it has been a significant time since my last stay when it was a Premier Inn. The room on the lower floor had an odour of urine and felt damp. The bed mattress was worn with no support. Thankfully The bedding was clean. The room overall was oversized and felt damp. The shower had a small cockroach looking insect residing. And the door had no security latch...

"Room was very clean as was the bathroom. It had everything you needed and it was all clearly labelled. Kingsize bed was really comfy. Curtains were blackout so no light got through. Situated in a lovely quiet area so there was no noise throughout the night. Throughly enjoyed the room. Had no issues are complaints. "

"Great hotel. I the UK for my dad’s celebration of life and hotel made visit easier to manage. two adults and a 16 year old, and plenty of room! Check in was smooth. Staff friendly. Breakfast amazing. Good atmosphere in restaurant/bar. Enjoyed our stay. Only slight grumble was not allowed to enter IHG one rewards, to take advantage of late checkout. Was told couldn’t as booked on Expedia. Always do this in Canada (home) and have never had a problem so that was frustrating."

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. "The accommodation was very good. Breakfast whilst adequate, was not as varied as I’ve had elsewhere. Eg. Scrambled eggs or no eggs. Hotel not easy to find by car and sat nav. Mine gave up. Haven’t seen so many no entry signs in such close proximity and never seen a “Bus gate” before. Beware of this as sat nav’s want to take you through it. DON’T GO there. I’ll probably have a ticket on the mat when I get home. Only one disabled car parking bay and that was coned off. Arriving by train? Not easy...
