"Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Downtown Providence. We had no vehicle and can't speak to valet services, but a valet was always present in the lobby, ready to assist, and it was very easy to arrange Ubers. Lots of wonderful venues within easy walking distance, too.
Staff were professional, kind, and helpful. We saw three different hotel receptionists at the desk throughout our stay. All assisted us promptly and effortlessly. We didn't dine in the restaurant, Backstage, but we did order room service breakfast once, and it was delicious.
Stayed in one of the author suites. Elegant, thematic enough to connect you with the literature, subtle enough to still be comfortable. Super happy with the room. Very clean. At one point, requested fresh towels, emptied garbage, coffee pods. Housekeeping went above and beyond.
A few notes:
1. The room service didn't come with silverware. This is minor, and probably a random and rare oversight.
2. We spent three nights and four mournings at the Hotel Providence. We never saw the 'hot continental breakfast' described in the amenities. There was coffee brewed, and a collection of chilled muffins, overripe bananas and apples, small pastries. If you are expecting a memorable or even average continental breakfast experience, you may be underwhelmed.
3. Homeless are present and and active around hotel entrance at night. Not a knock on the hotel, and we didn't feel in danger. They were nice. Still, expect that.
