"We liked the hotel and it's charm. However, our room was crawling with ants. There were ants on the towels, the bathtub, and they found their way into our toiletries overnight. We should have known something was up when we spotted an ant trap around the sink. We brought this to the attention of the staff first thing in the morning (no one is available at night) and we were greeted with a shrug. Expedia tried, but could not resolve the issue. The room was clean and the breakfast was good....

"I booked 4 nights at the Vanessie because it was located close to the downtown area of Santa Fe and the Railroad District. Also, I was looking for local charm, and thought the wood-beamed ceiling was cool. I got there after 9:00 PM only to find out that they do not staff the Inn after 8:00 PM. I called the emergency number posted by the front door and Jay walked me through were to find my key codes (there are no keys, just coded locks) and got me into Unit 1. I immediately found small ants...

"This is the second time I stayed at this motel. I loved it so much I returned. It is convenient to Old Town Santa Fe. Clean room and hot water. The bed was super comfy with lots of pillows. I will definitely stay there again if in Santa Fe."

"The property was retro-cool looking. I liked the skylight in the bathroom (once I figured out why I couldn't turn off the light, lol!). Didn't use the spa or pool but they were nice to have. People seemed to enjoy the food truck, including non-guests/locals, so parking after I returned from dinner with friends was much more difficult. "Very nice comfortable, roomy facility and close to downtown Santa Fe. Everything worked well. The breakfast was excellent. We didn't use the pool of hot tub but both were well attended and seemed to work well. The check in was flawless and the receptionist most helpful answering questions."
