"Staying in the castle was an amazing experience. For those that expect modern facilities, please keep in mind that this is a very old castle that has been retrofitted.

The location was great, not too far from the centre or the attractions but nice and quiet. Only had breakfast once but it was delicious. Everything was clean and we had all we needed. "This is a 100 yr old property that has been updated but a while ago. The rooms are small but the owner/staff was excellent and the stay was enjoyable. They included a made to order breakfast. Peterlee is a little out of the way but matched where we were going. Just stayed one night."

"Welcoming reception. The food is amazing. Family friendly pub and restaurant. Rooms ok. Toilet cistern... you must press both buttons together to flush otherwise the nouse of water all night long. Instructions would be helpful along with a notification to say milk in fridge. Staff go extea mike to look after you. Bed comfy. Pillows confy too. "
