"Booked this under the VIP banner which allowed me free drink from their restaurant bar. The staff greeted me in a friendly manner and directed me to my room. I had booked a ground floor room which had the benefit of a patio door leading to an outdoor dining area which will be fantastic in the Summer. "Room was spotless, good hotel for a stop over. No shops nearby as you're on a business park. Food was not the best though, breakfast was over cooked and cold in most places."

"All felt very dated. Walls and floors all paper thin, could hear everything from folks waking at 6am, with the addition of construction work right outside the window at 7:30am. Rooms, whilst clean, were basic and tired, and far too warm with no ability to adjust temperature. Pay and display parking (with no guest discount) is a bit odd too. Not sure what grants this a 4*, but it certainly isn’t. Get what you pay for. "

"Generally comfortable. Bar and restaurant staff friendly. EV parking very good. Bathroom cold. Towel rail not working. Asked for it to be sorted but nothing happened. Pool good size but run down.(e.g some changing room showers not working, jacuzzi not working and pool shower cold with blocked drain.)"

"Purbeck house hotel is right in the town and close to everything. However, once inside and in the gardens, it is so tranquil, a perfect stay. Staff so helpful and friendly and meet requests and enquiries with a smile. Room was comfortable and clean and all you need for a stay. Varied continental breakfast, perfect. We will definitely return."

"Fridge wasn't actually cold, jammed outer window that wouldn't close so there was consistent traffic noise from being next to major road. The fan/heater unit system is ancient, full of lint / dust and very ineffective -- particularly the heater setting (not very warm and would turn off after a couple of minutes). General cleanliness not great -- hairs etc in the bathroom, dirty carpet. There was also the most annoying buzz coming from various electronics in the room and the plug system to turn...

"Stayed in room 1 and bed was too firm. The bathroom was mouldy and shower head and the drain in shower over filled with water. Bedroom was clean but could not get comfortable on such hard mattress. Spa was nice and food was really good in restaurant. "
