"Whilst the decor was a little dated our stay was great. Staff helpful and friendly. You can't get breakfast at The Maynard but their sister hotel on the corner was just minutes away, and you got a discount for being guests at The Maynard. Staff/Service excellent. The only thing i would say is my friend was unable to take a bath or shower as there was not a slip mat to assist in their safety."

"It is an excellent location, beautiful sea view rooms overlooking south bay, close to local amenities, there is a lift to take you down to the seafront and back again, only cost £2.50, I recommend it for the view. Rooms are serviced every day, great friendly staff, great restaurant and it’s dog friendly too, don’t take my word for it! Just go and enjoy 😊 "

"Beautiful modern and spotless room. We arrived early and could check in earlier than we thought as the room was ready. Tom, the owner was so helpful and the hotel’s duty manager was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. "

"The room was ok,but you could smell kitchen odours in the bathroom . The evening meals were poor, alot of the meals did not have the ingredients and the meals were poorly cooked. Lacked organisation "

"Excellent place to stay clean tidy 5 minute walk to beach"

"Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year "

"I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...

"Unclean and run down. Breakfast tasted cheap for £38 for 2 adults and a toddler. Strange setup and nothing like what was advertised. Extremely heavy and fast shutting doors, no good for little fingers in a family bedroom."

"No parking here, but it is right in the center of town so very convenient. The room was spacious and spotless."

"Had bad experience this time around waited 20 minutes just to check coz there’s only one staff member running accommodations do he’s never been in the building when ever I needed help there was no only one electrical socket far away from the bed no internet toilet is 2 floors down absolutely ridiculous and also noise from other guests to mention but a few"
