"Lovely room.. had a polite call asking what time im checking in.. room slightly cold at first but warmed up once heating kicked in. Would definitely stay again.."

Breakfast was excellent, local produce and top quality, great service and really enjoyed it. Free parking was great. Close by South beachfront with up to 15min walk to beach. "Excellent place to stay with free parking outside and only a ten minute walk onto the seafront. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. "Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year "

"Overlooking the sea. Excellent breakfast, best thing about the hotel. Last stayed at this hotel three years ago. Since then we noticed a big change in the hotel, especially the decoration and prices in the bar. Had a latte and half a pint of beer, cost £9.00 in cash!!!!! Was it pocketed or was I charged for one pint instead of half a pint?"

"Misleading information from staff ruined what should have been a simple experience. We were told at reception that our voucher could be used for afternoon tea, then showed it again in the lounge before ordering and were seated without issue. Only at payment were we told it didn’t apply and charged full price, which feels completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, there were no towels in the room when we needed them, and the room was unbearably hot with no proper way to cool it. Overall,...

"I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...
