"Generally the standard of hygiene could be improved dramatically , just very dusty and dirty in certain areas. They just need to hoover the carpet more. We had a blocked sink and the water wasn’t very warm despite setting to maximum. I understand other guests had similar issues. "We stayed here for one night over the weekend, a pretty little property around 30 minutes walk from central Canterbury. This wasn't too much of an issue as we are happy to walk but it was further than anticipated. We slept so well in the soft bed and liked our little room. When we arrived however there was a brown stain in the toilet and although we flushed it a few times, it would always come back which suggests plumping needs a look at. Says 4 rooms on website but there are 6 and they are...

"The staff were fantastic very helpful and lovely to talk too and the room was beyond what I was expecting, beautifully clean lovely and warm the toilets were always clean and the shower was a walk in we absolutely enjoyed I stay and hopefully will be back next year. "The overall property is in need of care. It is a very interesting, almost grand building but it needs refurbishing and better maintenance. The staff was welcoming and tried to be helpful (see below) We had reserved a room with air conditioning. It did not work. We were told that the system would be replaced by the summer! "My son has a duck feather allergy. We asked at front reception if we can use some hypoallergenic hollow Fiber pillows to which their reply why house keeping is gone and we don’t know where they store them. My son ended up getting a full on body rash and couldn’t sleep all night. "
