"While we have always cherished our stays at Bernardus, this visit was somewhat disappointing. The front desk staff appeared distracted by their own conversations, which detracted from the usual warm welcome we’ve come to appreciate. "Carmel Valley Lodge was amazing! There are so many positive things to comment on! The outdoor life size games like Chess, Connect 4, Jenga were super cool! The pool area was beautiful and quiet - I loved the loungers, the hot tub, the fire pit. My room also had a partially closed off front porch which I enjoyed sitting out there drinking coffee, listening to the birds. There aren't enough words to describe the greatness of the staff - from the greeting when I entered to the small talk about tv...

The gate for where we stayed needs to be fixed but still closed and lastly I don’t mind being naked at all using the tub in front of the room’s outdoor patio at the entrance of the room; other guests who are shy probably won’t use it?"

"For being on a main road, This place is well kept, the rooms were very clean and smelled nice. I rented 2 rooms. They allowed us to check into 1 room 1 hr early. The other room wasnt ready until 30 min after check in time. Parked near our room was tight. The mattress needs to replaced. There was a Keurig in our room. The internet worked"

"Nice hotel close to point lobos. Great staff and amenities. They had Lelo and stitch playing on a big screen at the pool the night we were there! It was a great touch we really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and watching."

"One of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Was old and tired and dirty and smelly. Terrible choice to stay there. Holes in curtains. Dirty coffee machine. Bathroom stunk of drainage. Floors in bedroom stunk of disinfectant and were sticky. "
