"Spotlessly clean, fabulous hosts and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Reading past reviews I was shocked at mentions of the floors being cold. It's an 18th century cellar for goodness sake!!! Stone floors are part of the charm. It is cosy and warm at this time of year (and I imagine lovely and cool in the summer).I would definitely stay again for its location, its cleanliness and its hosts. Can't fault it except for the mattress, which is a bit "argos" and could do with a good...

"Lovely spacious room. Friendly and efficient staff. City centre location. Bathroom had both a rainfall and a hand-held shower head. The only minor gripes were 1 - no fridge in the room 2 - the random selection of TV channels, which was a bit hit & miss."

"Spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Also I was surprised how good the breakfast was for an English hotel, it wasn't just the 'typical' English breakfast but also lots of great continental options. Close to the train station and a bus stop if going to Clifton etc. Would happily stay again."

"Room spotless, bottle of cold water and fresh milk in fridge a bonus. Staff all friendly and helpful even carried out bags up the steep stairs. Although over a pub no problem with noise. Able to park car in their car park and leave it for the whole of our stay. Did not have breakfast as visiting family very close by so went there each morning. Very convenient for bus into town"

"Kind and hepful staff made such a difference. My room was small but had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. This is a great place from which to explore Bristol as the bus stops right opposite the hotel. Clifton Village is a short walk away across Victoria Square and has some great shops, restaurants and cafes etc plus it's just a short walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. "
