"We encountered several cockroaches in the room, including one that crawled over my head during the night. The blankets were quite thin. And in the shower it took a very long time for the water to get hot. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the front desk helped us to sort out our parking situation in a very hands-on and helpful way."

"Location unbeatable, staff was wonderful. Property is run down, room wasn’t clean enough - water stains and a couple small bugs in bathroom. The pool and spa area was not modern, not as clean as I would like. Horrendous disposable flip flops instead of standard gym/hotel slides."

"Wonderful hotel with very nice staff, easy check in and check out, clean, large room that lacked for nothing except a fridge. I love the location on the upper west side, near to the natural history museum and Central Park. Nice Matin offers nice meals throughout the day with a hotel discount. The price is half what the same room would be on the east side. They do not have valet parking but the parking lot they recommend gives a big discount if you are staying at the Lucerne. "

"The hotel staff was amazing!!! we got in late and the night staff was so warm and friendly for 1AM! . each night we got in late and the night staff again, so kind. the day time door man and front desk staff also very helpful and friendly. lobby is really cute, warm and cozy. small coffee shop and little water and snacks available in lobby shop. for NYC the room size was good with cute decor. They had a few small things in the room that needed repairs plus things like behind the TV needed...

"Have stayed here 20+ times over nearly a decade. Love the location near Times Square but slightly away from the chaos. Perfect room and hotel for a solo traveler in New York for work. Comfy bed, pillows and duvet. Love that they brought back giving guests a water bottle in the room upon checkin!"

"Beautiful historic building. Very clean. The staff was helpful. The bar was nice. Only downside is there is no restauarant or breakfast or even coffee available in the hotel (there is a nice Cafe next door that you get a $10 voucher for but not ideal for early morning take off)."

"Window in bathroom opened up directly to neighbours, very limited space for storage. That said, fantastic location and very convenient facilities on-site like tea in the lobby."
