" There was no storage for some clothing items. pants, socks, t shirts etc. There was no window opening presumably due to safety reasons and the air conditioning was very difficult to set correctly."

"The room was spacious, large beds, ensuites and a lovely big living space. The lighting was a bit dim, more lamps would be good. Small things didnt work well, ie, no bedside lights, front door wouldnt lock (except for the yale), a bulb was out, we scouldnt get the phone to reception to work and wifi didnt work either. Some of the blinds need fixing too. However, lovely linen, comfy beds, great location and quiet. "

"Find someplace else is my advice. Great location to the Chester Cathedral & that’s the best I can say. Reception couldn’t bother welcoming me, except to hand me my room key. I’m 72 years ago & I had to carry a bag up three flights of stairs with no offer of assistance. The carpet on the stairs & in the hallways is dirty, stained, frayed in places. Room was good size but no outlets to plug in a phone - had to unplug a lamp. No outlets in bathroom to plug in a hair dryer or curler so once again...

"Really beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms have an amazing view and comfy bed. Really spacious bathroom for just their standard size room, and really powerful shower. The only slight disadvantage is that the room had no heating on but was very warm somehow, so we had to sleep with the windows open. The breakfast had a good selection of choices, and fresh eggs."

"Breakfast was terrible value. it was offered as a continental breakfast but what actually came were offerings that did not include and cheese or ham or even a boiled egg. My husband discussed it the manager. There is a new menu on its way.Staff were all very friendly.There just seemed to be fewer around than on previous stays over the years.in general the hotel is in a great location. Short walk into centre of Chester, great parking under the hotel for £20 per night. Just think the rooms are...

"The staff are a mix of fabulous and awful - some were so helpful and efficient and could not do enough but others were rather rude and snappy. The whole place needs a bit of TLC - wonderful beautiful building with some fabulous public rooms, statues and artwork but needs a good clean for example cobwebs and dust everywhere, chipped and peeling paint. The outside area is filthy - get a jetwash and clean it down - cushions on outside furniture yuck. The outside area in the second building...
