"I am sorry to say that our stay was unexpectedly very bad. Even as we checked in the property was cold. There was NO HEATING and no HOT WATER. After many tephone calls we were told that the we boiler was not functioing. We were given grossly inadequate heaters which did little to correct the situation. It completely wrecked the evening which was the celebration of my wife's 70th Birthday. Our first night was a nightmare with no ability for us and our guests to have shower for two full days even...

"The cooked food was all brilliant. Chef and breakfast and evening team friendly and efficient Rooms nicely equipped, though heating programme meant the room was very warm at the wrong time. "

"Ideal for a 1 night stay. May need to explain that when they say ‘breakfast included’, its a basket including cereals, croissants, biscuits and yoghurt. Not actually a hot breakfast or a breakfast menu in the pub. Lovely staff. Nice and clean room."

"not a good sleep the first night due to a machine in the courtyard for freezing purposes. apparently the normal freezer had broken. however after we complained we were moved to another room which was a lot better in fact an upgrade on our previous room hopefully the university of cambridge will rectify this in the not to distant future. the staff were excellent"

"Soooooo good! This hotel is located perfectly for the central colleges and river. It’s also a very short walk from Park & Ride bus stops if you come into the city using P&R. The communal areas are great with lots of food and drink options, plus plenty of seating. Lovely vibe in there. Bed was incredibly comfortable and we both slept very well. There is a modern clean bathroom and well equipped small kitchenette. Highly recommend for a trip to Cambridge."

"Beautiful bedroom very large and spacious, as was the en-suite shower room. The bed and bedding were excellent and I had a wonderful nights sleep. The water in the shower was hot and a good pressure. However the flush for the toilet was not working. I would also recommend the owners supply bedside lights as there were none and the main light switch was over by the door. A kettle and teabags/coffee were provided in the room but no milk or water. "Nice stay, next to the motorway but didn't bother me. Malaysian food was delicious and staff very nice and welcoming."

"It's a lovely building close to the M11 in lovely grounds with parking. What I didn't like was check in at 4pm, it's out of step with most other places which are 3pm. Most hotels can get the rooms ready 11-3pm. The room was very small and the style was very dated, the rooms away from the main building are not well signed and a room for 2 people had no hand towels, 2 bath towels and the only toiletries was a minuscule bar of soap, no shower gel or shampoo. All hotels supply more than that and...

"I’ve stayed many tomes. Due to a processing error, by stay was booked on the date I booked it rather than the date of stay. They refused to cancel without a cancellation fee and I am out of pocket of over £80 not stayed there for that night. I have stayed in the past, but for a residence to steal my money by not refunding or compromising and not providing the service of the money they took. Never staying again. I travel regularly for work, so that won’t happen anymore"

"For the price paid it was decent enough and functional room for an overnight stay during work trip. Obviously the hotel could do with a bit of renovation and sprucing up. But they made up for it with the lovely staff. Definitely recommend for short stays, their Chai is first class!!"
