"On arrival the reception and main areas looked grand and slendid. Helped with luggage to room. Deluxe king with sea view. Very dated ,balconcy ,paint flaking off handrail ,chairs no table ,patio doors needed a good clean. Not enough sockets,no bathrobes or slippers as advertised. Food at breakfast ok,but Lounge Bar food very pricey and poor.Not enough staff.Charge for towel rail in bathroomto be put on.Heating worked only in evening.Asked for a mini fridge before arrival ,which was in room for us but should be standard nowadays.Menu in Lounge and Restaurant needs changing ,the same thing everyday.Extra charges for this and that.No room service menu in rooms.No menus in room.Only real on info everywhere was about spa treatments. Which cost more on Friday,Saturday. Outdoor pool out of action,which has been like that looking at reviews for over a year.Needs money sent on rooms and outside.Photos shown on website are 6 to 9 years old.Stayed in better hotels in Turkey ,Spain with less stars So Breakfast OK, Bed Comfortable. "

"Yes only one problem trying to get into changing rooms with code because left glass in locker could not place number in?(After swim in pool) the rest was very satisfying."

"Room was only mediocre, young female in reception treated me as if I was a third class citizen, like the place was run like a prison. The entry to the property was downtrodden and dirty. I know I only paid £33 for the room, promised tea and coffee facilities. Tea only. Curtains hanging from runners. Bed and mattress weren't a pair, no mattress cover only sheet and quilt barely fit the bed. The wardrobe when you opened the door, the back panel was hanging off. The shower cubicle itself needed replacing or total refurbishment. In general the place was a dump "

"A great place to stay in Torquay. Across the road from the beach and a short walk into town. Nice room and really good food in the restaurant, the breakfast is also very nice. "

"I was very disappointed with the overall cleanliness and condition of this hotel. The front of the property was extremely dirty, with rubbish scattered around, giving a very poor first impression upon arrival. The outdoor swimming pool was out of service and filled with green, dirty water, which was both unappealing and concerning. The garden area was also poorly maintained, with broken furniture left lying around, adding to the neglected atmosphere. Inside the hotel, the heating was turned off despite the temperature being only 12°C. When we asked reception about this, we were told it was due to it being “summer,” which felt unreasonable given how cold it actually was. Our room itself had several issues. The curtains were partially falling off their fittings, and the bathroom had a constant sewage smell, making it very unpleasant to use. Additionally, many of the pictures shown on the website do not reflect the current state of the property. The hotel appears quite misleading in its presentation online compared to the reality. Overall, this stay did not meet expectations, and significant improvements are needed in cleanliness, maintenance, and honesty in advertising."

"We arrived late on a Thursday evening, our room was small but was tidy and seemed clean, we paid budget so didn’t expect too much. However, we immediately noticed two large cockroaches coming up from under the carpet, my partner went to reception and we got a room change straight away and upgraded to a bigger room on the opposite side of the hotel. The new room was fine and no sign of any bugs so we stayed there for the three nights we’d booked. It wasn’t exactly dirty but it wasn’t spotless and had a bit of a musky smell, so my guess is that it’s an old building and has some damp which attracted the cockroaches, but I’m no expert! Our room was never cleaned while we were there but as we were only there three nights purely to sleep there that didn’t bother us, we had to ask reception for more milk, tea and coffee for the room which they were happy to provide. I think potentially our room wasn’t cleaned because of the change of room, maybe they didn’t know we were in there, or maybe it wasn’t a service included in our price. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The WiFi wasn’t great, I used my data the whole time and my partner had issues with the WiFi dropping off. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the breakfast looked ok, we didn’t use the bar or any of the public areas but they all seemed nice and tidy. The staff were really nice and friendly the whole time. The area for us was ideal, only a short walk to Babbacombe or St Marychurch which is why we chose this hotel. "
