"A wonderful old country house for an overnight stay. The staff were exceptional, from check-in, through evening meal, to check-out. Welcoming, friendly and professional. We had an excellent meal in The Grill. The view from our room was spectacular."

"There was a large car park and a lovely garden. The house is tucked away in a quiet part of Windermere but you can walk into town in 5-10 minutes. The choice at breakfast was great and the food was delicious. Very friendly and professional staff- could thoroughly recommend"

"Excellent central location. The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa. The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this. Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring. Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance. "Fantastic central location in Bowness - an abundance of shops and restaurants are on the doorstep, and the jetty is a just a short walk away. The allocated parking is a huge benefit. The garden outside the property is absolutely stunning, and the room was spacious, spotless, comfortable and full of charming character (the Puddle-Ducks theme was a lovely touch). The morning breakfast hamper with breads, fruit, yogurt, and juice was really nice too. Highly recommended"

"Stayed in room 6 on the top floor for a romantic weekend away with the Mrs. The room was lovely and the bath was a really nice added extra. We had a slight issue with one of the radiators not heating which caused the room to be cold, however I called one of the provided numbers and an electric heater was provided within literally 5 minutes by a lovely girl working there. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were super accommodating. I would definitely recommend considering a stay here and...

"Beautiful gardens. Access to the lake for paddleboard etc. although fairly steep walk down and back. Saw a couple of deer on the walk down. Quirky layout of the building. No clear directions on check in and lots of 'staff only' areas and doors. Sitting areas have great views. Need to be fit enough to carry luggage up stairs. Comfortable room and bed. Rooms not soundproofed. Old fashioned key. Lovely hot water. Dinner was good. "
