"We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. "A really good location to stop overnight and very happy with the room. Breakfast was delivered in a hamper box outside our room and was rather disappointing. No egg/cold meats option. The main option was oats with fruit. We ordered with banana and strawberry. Tiny amount of strawberry and the banana slices were dried and chewy. But the evening meal was good honest pub grub."

"Beautiful period property with tall ceilings and all the usual lovely period features. Friendly, helpful staff. Hearty breakfast buffet every morning and evening meals were also very tasty. Stayed in an Executive Room which was very spacious, warm and well kitted out. Biscuits, coffee bags, tea and hot chocolate plus bottle wated provided in the rooms. Fast and efficient check-in and check-out. Would be very pleased to stay again if in the area. Thank you."

"Superb property. The room we had was massive. Very large sleigh bed. Raised platform with a double ended bath in the bedroom. Beautiful oak flooring on the platform and really nice thick carpet in the bedroom. The en suite had a large walk in shower and was all new and clean feeling. The grounds were lovely. Nice walk round, rope swing obviously designed for brides and grooms. Sheep in the field next door. Staff friendly. Classly and well kept. Can highly recommend."
