"We arrived at Hawk house and were greeted by a laminated sign that explained how to check in. We called the number, but there was no response. We called the bell (several times) and eventually a young lady came to check us in. She showed us to our room and was helpful. The room was a twin room (we had booked a double). "Unfortunately, no A/C in room, which is not unusual, but on a very hot day for England, the bathroom towel racks were in full heat and almost boiling. Neither we nor the hotel manager could shut them off. One single fan provided little/no relief and room temp was + 30c degrees and never got to a comfortable temp overnight. "The room was clean and the shower worked well (although personal preference I wasn't a fan of the shower curtain!). They provided a fan in the room which was needed with the heat. All the staff were lovely and they even carried our big suitcase up the stairs for us! Enjoyed are stay and located in a wonderful location."
