"This is the real deal! Historic property with great food, great rooms. Had a suite, very nice. We were welcomed by howler monkeys, deer and agouti (which is pleural for agouti). Nice clean pool. 4 star luxury. Stayed on our way to the airport, easy commute 45 minutes."

"Wow what a beautiful hotel! Rio Perdido offers quiet luxury in a very natural environment. The staff were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly and kind. We stayed n an eat bungalow which was perfect for a couple or family of 3- huge bed, couch to chill on, lots of storage, good size bathroom and cute deck with hammocks where we sat and watched the monkeys playing in the trees. "Location is about 20–25 minutes from downtown. The space is cozy and suitable for a family of four, and the balcony is very nice. However, there was an ongoing odor in the room, and the bathroom had a strong smell, which affected our overall comfort. "
