The pub offers great value for money and is dog friendly. We used it as a stop of travelling south from Scotland and we will likely return. "

"We can not fault anything, it was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in the gatehouse room which was incredible and extremely comfortable, the inn it’s self is so cosy and it’s definitely the friendliest inn that we have been in, the food was 10 out 10 the views from the beer garden where beautiful, the staff where so lovely and nothing is too much for them, they just want to look after you. "The pub was great, cosy and food was fantastic as well as being reasonably priced. The staff are polite and very welcoming and provided lots of help throughout our stay. The room was very clean and tidy and comfortable. We will definitely be staying again and recommend this hotel to anyone. We are not dog owners but its extremely dog friendly."

There was no welcome gift as promised by Hotels.com and there was a bit of a mix up in that although I had already paid the hotel insisted I pay again, the £300 was refunded during my stay as it was the hotels mistake."

"This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. "

"Lovely quite country location, off-street parking & all the comforts of home. Near train station if public transport is required, however noise from trains was not an issue. 'The stables is ideal for a couple with small kitchen if wanting to cook."

"The location is excellent, close to the city center. The parking opportunities are limited, fortunately unloading and loading is possible in the street of the location. The apartment is well equipped and sizable. However, the windows pf apartment 3 are facing an inner court with a venting system of a restaurant. It produces strong kitchen smells during most of the day. It should be discussed with the owner how to reduce the smells (with scrubs, perhaps)."
