"Every thing great"

"We used this cabin as a home base for activities all over the bay area. We did SF on our arrival and departure days, then did things in San Jose and Santa Cruz each day of our stay. The hairpin turns going up and down the mountain are an experience, but the views are so worth it, and enjoying the nature on site was a highlight of our vacation. We loved feeding the chickens, ducks, and geese as well as the koi in the pond, taking walks down what we called the "fairy trail" below the pond, and just sitting and taking in the view. It was so great to have the pantry and bar stocked already so we just had to supplement our chosen snacks like cheese and fruit from the store halfway down the mountain. My only negatives are that it was a little cramped for five people, and the kids complained about the spotty Wi-Fi. I just consider that more encouragement to get outdoors, and we were still able to watch movies and TV together as a family. Highly recommend!"

"Parking was excellent -- under the building, so access to the lobby was very easy. Staff was very friendly, check-in and check-out very easy. The room was simple but very modern and clean. And quiet! So I got a good night's sleep."

"This place has really changed over the last few years. I used to love it. Not as friendly. Definitely not as clean. And there are hackers. DONT do any computer work there. I’ve been hacked twice while staying. Won’t stay there anymore "

"The staff was amazing. So nice and attentive. Our room lock was malfunctioning but they had it fixed the next morning. The only downfall was not the fault of the Best Western - two nights in a row, other guests came in just before 3am and woke everyone up. In the parking lot, stomping in their rooms, beeping their car alarms. Annoying, but I know they were on vacation. Not the end of the world. I'd definitely stay here again."

"Was debating between giving it a 2 star or a 3 star but had to give it a two. It wasn't all that clean. The tub was dirty, there was stuff on the shower curtain, hair all around in the floor and one long one in the towel, there was a big hole punched into the wall in the bathroom and there was no vent fan so every-time you take a shower the entire hotel room gets “moist.” The TV disconnected the last day we were there for some reason. Also, THERE IS NO MICROWAVE! Usually a deal breaker for me, but if you’re thinking to use the mini fridge and then warm something up some leftovers, you can’t. One of the beds was slanted which made sleeping a bit difficult. The rooms are totally not sound proof as we could hear our neighbors’ nighttime activities. I will say however that they have live music all weekend at the bar there and you can’t hear it from the room unless you open the window. They have a little “store” for basic goods, but the hours weren’t reliable. Went there after 9am on a Monday and the doors were locked and no one was in the office either though someone was seen walking around the side of the building, but not sure if this was a staff person or not. All in all, I gave this a 2 star because it is historic and you can stay here without high expectations. I wouldn’t stay here again though. Might come by in the future to eat at the diner and check out the Brook Room if it, the pool, and the mermaid room ever finish getting renovated to check them out too."
