"The hotel is situated just outside the Mail box and overlooks the canal network in the heart of Birmingham. Excellent location and handy car park. Lots of bars, shops and restaurants within a pleasant stroll. The hotel itself is quite minimalist but has a bar, coffee area and breakfast restaurant. "the good: great location, nice pool area, snacks and water available all the time. Bad: not clean, smelled cleaning products when we arrived, took a while for te smell to go away. didnt bring extra pilows when i asked fot it, the reception said that it was on the way but never received it. Did't refill the coffee paper cups."

"Unfortunately we were put in a room that faces the road where there are ongoing roadworks. These went on all through the night, we gave up at 7 am and went for breakfast then headed straight home. The lorries were constantly back and forth with reversing alarms going. I have complained to premier inn but they accept no responsibility for placing guests in rooms while this work continues. Avoid Waterloo Street Birmingham for the time being."

"Excellent location for attending the Utilita Arena, Symphony Hall or the SeaLife Centre. Q car park is adjacent to the property, or if arriving by train Birmingham New Street is a 15 minute walk. The property has comfortable rooms and the facilities are well maintained. BUT We attended the Les Mis concert at the Arena and returned to the hotel to have a drink to finish off the evening at around 10:30. However the room was not well maintained with a cracked pane of glass in the window, grubby corners, badly marked paintwork. Having booked the room online and seen it - I was not advised that the room was in the attic, and that there were 2 flights of stairs to access it. the second one being very steep and narrow.
