However, the property appears to need maintenance, as several areas look worn and somewhat neglected. The parking lot also seems poorly maintained, which does not create a great first impression. "NOT A MARRIOTT EXPERIENCE!! The room unfortunately smelled like body odor, and the loveseat had stains on it and was gross. The pool and the hot tub were not available the entire four days that I was there. They also did not clean my room the day after I checked in."

"It is in a fantastic location for families visiting ISU, we however had some yucky rooms with some maintenance issues. A toilet that kept us up all night as it continued to run, I also believe that because of that there was maybe a prior flooding issue as the corner near the TV had a damp rid box set up and the carpet was wet, the room also had a musty smell. We got in late and didn't feel like switching rooms so we just brought it to the front desks attention the next day. Our second room...

"Our stay for one night was fine, but it's a rather tired hotel. You can just tell by little things like dirty hallways with old carpet, a wobbly toilet, and old furniture,that it's been around awhile."

"Had bugs in the room, staff was not friendly at check in, she acted like I was bothering her for coming in. In the morning I left the keys in the room and my daughter left her phone so had to go to desk and get a new key … nobody was manning the desk. "The hotel was very clean and staff was very nice. Biggest thing was we left the Hampton Inn the night before, and the Microtel is not near as nice, nor does it have nearly as many amenities. Price was more expensive than what we paid at the Hampton. The plus was the convenience of where we wanted to stay near where our family lived - and it was very clean."
