"Beautiful hotel, excellent location"

"The beach view was wonderful even though partially blocked by some buildings on the beach. I loved sleeping with the door open to hear the sounds of the ocean! The hotel room was beautiful and the bathroom was fabulous and luxurious. The Continental Breakfast served to the room was a wonderful treat! Cookies in the lobby were a nice touch. "I loved the fire place and how the room door opened into the patio. Very beautiful! Although the shower was gorgeous, we did not like the water pressure in the shower. The pressure was lite. Also, the handicapped parking was situated in the middle of the entrance and exit of the property and was inconvenient. We were also given the wrong time for breakfast. Overall, we give this place 3.5 stars out of 5."

"The room wasn't very spacious, but it was clean, I like that the flooring wasn't carpet. Beds were comfortable. Staff was helpful, quiet and respectful. There is a large shopping center accross the street (which we only discovered on our last day, unfortunatly), Hotel conveniently located close to Carmel and Monterey. Comparing location, availability and rates with other nearby hotels, I'd stay there again when visiting the area."

"This place is old, dated and small. Clean but smelled a little because of its age and use. We had prepaid for the one night stay but they insisted on charging our card a $150 deposit! I asked why. Just to make sure we didn’t trash our room. We are an elderly couple. We are not about to trash their room. "I will recommend anyone wanting to visit Monterey, CA to stay here at Colton inn! Hotel near a lot of shops, restaurants and stores at a walking distance. Also everything at a driving distance of a hour like to Santa Cruz. All staff like Kristen and Allen are the best very helpful in everything you ask or need! Thank you Colton inn!"
