"The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. "The positives: This hotel is in a GREAT location, and the staff was friendly. The included breakfast was nice. The negatives: The room was the tiniest room I have EVER seen in my life - no place to even leave a suitcase open. The bed was the only place with room to open it, so I had to get out what I wanted and zip it back up each time. If that had been the only issue, I would be rating this better, however, this room was FILTHY, with huge piles of dust and giant wads of other people's hair all...

The room was comfortable, the hotel has a nice atmosphere, and I paid for one of the top-tier rooms expecting a premium experience consistent with previous stays I’ve had not only here, but at other Hotel du Vin properties across the country.
