"The pub was wonderfully and the rooms were very clean and a very comfortable bed, the staff were excellent, the food was outstanding and breakfast was plentiful. It was ideally located for all the sights . Will be returning."

"Not great at all. I believe there was a change of ownership 3 weeks ago. Breakfast was poor. Asked for a vegetarian option and there was none. Room house keeping did not happen. Room was fairly clean but carpet was horrid overall. Overall not a great experience. A shame as the reviews seemed good. "

"The Market Tavern is a little gem and a very welcome find! Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, nice room and bar / restaurant. The star of the show is the food which was superb. A small menu but this means everything is good quality. Prices are reasonable - and worth every penny. With many restaurants now asking £35-45 for a steak, my steak at the Market Tavern was just £24. Ok, it wasn't a fillet or a rib-eye, it was a rump (a so called inferior cut!) But the chef here knows that it's about the cooking and not the cut! Well cooked, tasty and satisfying - all at a great price! What more could you want! A clever move that will bring in the punters! The breakfast (included in the room rate) was also excellent. We have friends in the area and just needed an over night stay so this will definitely be our go to place when we're in the area. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly - we'll be back!"

"I stay in hotels all the time for work, so like to think I know my stuff. This hotel is brilliant, great price point and great value fro money. The staff excellent, couldn’t be more helpful and pleasant. Evening meal was very good and breakfast was 10/10. Room decor was nice, great size room 10/10 location great. Don’t hesitate to book this super duper hotel."

"Great location for exploring Burford. Hotel rooms are lovely but some areas a little tired. Unfortunately we had slightly louder guests above our room and footsteps/talking can be heard pretty clearly. Other than that the food was lovely in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and staff very friendly and welcoming. "
