"What an unexpected surprise; while traveling from Tucson, Arizona to West Texas are for our annual family reunion we decided to stop in Van Horn this time instead of Fort Stockton, and the Hotel El Captain was much more than we were expecting... This 1930's hotel has managed to retain its historic charm and our stay was fantastic from arrival to our reluctant departure; the staff was extremely helpful and their onsite restaurant was great with so many delicious options... We sat out on their courtyard for dinner and drinks with our little Shih Tzu along with many other guests with their pets... My wife and I would highly recommend the Hotel El Captain for a stay-over or just a stop to rest and enjoy good meal, dessert, or one of their many tapas..."

"Cute older hotel. The pool was amazing, the water slide was a bonus! There is nothing around so we had to eat bad frozen foods from the gas station but that was an adventure all in its own. Super close to the caverns. "
