"Really lovely cottage with all the touches of home, comfy bed and great shower, I didnt like and no fault of the property the couch was covered in sand and the floor did need to be cleaned apart from that everything was really clean and lovely, thank you"

"We travel from Canada to visit family in the North East every year and have stayed here three times now. It has a great atmosphere and the food is very good. We’re already planning for 2027 and we will be back."

"Very good family break. Enjoyed the swimming pool with the kids"

"Room was exceptionally clean with a very comfortable bed. One of the double glazed window units was blown and required replacing and the ensuite was a little tired and needed upgrading. We will almost certainly visit again, despite getting a few things wrong the staff were extremely friendly and...

"Great location, with loads of parking in the area and really close to the station (handy to get to Newcastle) and the seaside. "Great hotel. Don’t be put off by the dated exterior, once inside it’s really quite lovely! Room very spacious and beds very comfortable."

"Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was okay - the full English I felt was a bit small for what I paid but other hot options looked pretty good - would consider that next time and the continental breakfast was good. Staff were lovely."

"Great stay at the Metropolitan. Lovely room which had everything you'd need. Breakfast was of an excellent quality."
